With tattoos being a common form of self-expression in modern western culture, many Christians are faced with the questions "Is it okay for Christians to have tattoos?" This argument has been going on for many years as most will agree there is not a definitive answer. The Bible typically mentions tattoos once, in Leviticus. However, this is the only time the English word "tattoos" has been applied in the Bible - but just because the English word was used doesn't mean these "tattoos" were the same process or from the same cultural or religious applications as ours today over 4000 year later. We need to take the time to really study and understand what the Bible is ACTUALLY saying, rather than applying our modern viewpoints because of how our English translation reads.
